Venue: Kaipātiki Project Centre, 17 Lauderdale Road, Birkdale, 0626
To maximise fruit production from your edible trees and plants, an insectary is a beneficial addition to your garden or orchard space. Consider implementing it as a separate garden, in a guild below fruit trees, or as a border to your edible garden beds. An insectary offers food for pollinators and predatory insects and works as a natural remedy for reducing infestations of pests and disease. This workshop will cover a selection of plant species, and focus on the benefits of including these in your garden design.

“I am passionate about growing food that is ‘full of life’, both nutritious and abundant. My community garden involvement has taught me the pleasures of learning, working and sharing together. Food resilience is our common goal.
To grow a successful garden, one begins with an intention to ‘care’, moves on to learn growing techniques and develop the skills of observation, and follows on towards sustainability and ‘wellbeing for all’. I am here to support that.
The workshops I have chosen to teach incorporate my experience of permaculture applications, along with my knowledge obtained through growing organically.”
