North-west Wild Link Assistance Programme

The current round of funding for this programme has finished.

If you live in the Hibiscus and Bays local board area and your property is within 20m of a stream you may be eligible for free advice and support via the North-west Wild Link Assistance Programme.

The Kaipatiki Project Environment Centre are partnering with the Hibiscus and Bays Local Board to support private landowners to care for our waterways and restore stream habitats which are important green corridors for our native fish, birds and other wildlife.

cropped tui suburban imageThe programme helps Hibiscus and Bays residents to contribute to the North-west Wild Link and enhance their backyard to form an important link in a network of streams, parks and backyards connecting Tiritiri Matangi Island in the east with the Waitakere Ranges in the west.

The North-west Wild Link Assistance Programme offers you FREE assistance to get you started on stream bank restoration including:

  • An on-site consultation with an expert advisor from Kaipatiki Project Environment Centre
  • Information on the best species to plant on your property and advice on effective weed control
  • Some support with getting rid of weeds
  • Some free native plants
