Enviro Day at EnviroHub
Engine Bay Nursery is opening its green doors to host Enviro Day and raise awareness about the community restoration work, volunteer opportunities, its new composting hub, food forest and more.
What to expect on the day:
• Native Plant Nursery Tours: Learn about native plants, how to care for them or buy some plants. Meet our volunteers and see if you’d like to join us in the future.
• Teaching Garden Tours: See what we grow, learn about growing food sustainably and get some seedlings for your garden.
• Harakeke (flax) Raranga (weaving) Workshops: Drop-in and learn to weave. Learn about harakeke tikanga and its uses.
• Composting Talks. Join in and learn with us: - 11am Bokashi workshop - 12pm Worm Farm workshop
• Restoration Activity: Learn about local bush and wetlands restoration, pest monitoring, check out our tool library open to public or find a resto ration group near you.
• New Community Composting Hub now Open: Bring a bucket and take home some FREE compost for your garden. Get involved and start composting with us.
• Talk to Us about Eco-Topics: We’d love to show you around and help you find a local eco-group to get involved with.
• Sausage Sizzle: Vegetarian and non-vegetarian options available
