Join our local community project to restore the historic Waipapa Stream!
Meet our regular volunteers and help us plant native trees, right next to Auckland Domain. Planting native trees helps to protect the integrity of the river banks, especially during flood events. It also helps to provide food and habitat for the local native wildlife, and enables other native flora to grow and to thrive, thereby supporting the entire eco-system! Of course planting trees, especially in natural forest settings, also captures carbon and reduces greenhouse gasses in the atmosphere!
Not only does planting trees help the planet, but it also helps us! Getting out into natural settings (and especially getting your hands into the soil) is proven to reduce stress and anxiety, improve overall health and brain function and increase happiness!
These happy health effects can be significantly amplified when the experience is also sociable, so tell your friends to come along and make it a high-value, social and fun day out!
