EcoFest Event
Get hands-on in the bush this EcoFest, with Friends of Okura Bush.
Join us for a biodiversity restoration and information sharing session. We are nurturing the native ecosystems in this area by removing pest plants and animals, caring for our younger native plantings, and preparing sites for planting this winter. Our focus areas are along the Okura Bush Walkway and Weiti River estuary in Stillwater. Join us for a monthly weeding session to help keep some of our beautiful Stillwater spots from being overtaken by pest plants.
Bring water, gloves, sun/rain suitable clothes and sturdy shoes.
WHEN: This regular working bee is on the fourth Saturday of every month. 8:00am start, with snacks and a yarn at 10:00am
WHERE: Meeting at 1a Duck Creek Road, Stillwater Hall
This is a great opportunity to meet other locals interested in restoring and protecting our local environment, and to learn more about native plant and animal species and how we care for and protect them.
