Come and join our volunteers and learn how to build one of these traditional beds.
Hugelkultur pronounced Hoo-gil-culture and translates as “hill garden” is a way of building a garden bed from rotten logs and other organic waste. Over time the woody material breaks down and slowly releases nutrients as well as acting like a sponge to hold water. In the first couple of years, the composting process warms the soil providing a good growing space.
Morning tea is provided.
