Native Plant Gardens Open Day

by Fernglen Native Plant Gardens

Visit our hidden gem, an open air museum of native plant species collected from around New Zealand. The collection of sub-alpine species and rare species began in the late 1950's by the late Muriel and Bill Fisher.

A bush walk takes visitors to Ben's Ridge, home to a premium Coprosma collection planted by Landscaper Nev Arbury. Learn about the history of Fernglen, purchase 'harder to find' native plants or take a self guided tour.

Partake in an informative tour with a knowledgeable guide at set times: 10am and 1pm. If possible, please book for the tour separately so that we can regulate numbers.

Refreshments will be available. To follow COVID protocols please bring your vaccination pass, wear a face mask when indoors and sign in at the education room.
