EcoFest: Coastal Clean-Up

EcoFest Event

Join one of the biggest clean ups on the North Shore!

Across the Upper Waitematā Harbour area, we are setting up 4 sites for people to head out on boats or kayaks at morning high tide to collect rubbish from those hard-to-reach areas. This will be supported by a ground crew and people heading out on foot at low tide. It’s an exciting and impactful day, that makes a vital difference to our local marine ecosystems. We look forward to welcoming you on the day!

This event is happening across four sites (Whenuapai, Beach Haven, Greenhithe, and Herald Island) at the same time. When you register for this event, you can indicate which location you will be starting from.

Own boats and kayaks are welcome and we encourage you to launch from Greenhithe Boat Ramp where we will have some water safety specialists out and about.  If you plan to bring your own, we’d love some more information about what boat / kayak you are bringing. Please contact the organiser after registering online. Thank you.

7.30am – 11am: Kayak based clean up

11am – 2.30pm: Land based clean up

This is a collaboration between Upper Waitematā Ecology NetworkFriends of Shepherds Park, and The Clean Up Crew.
