Let’s talk Kākahi

If you're on Waiheke Island, join WRT to discover the story of the kākahi (freshwater mussels) in the Little Oneroa stream with Neil Henderson from the Kaipātiki Project at this FREE event.

We will be leading a guided walk to showcase the biodiversity of Little Oneroa Stream. The presence of kākahi is a good health indicator for an ecosystem, and during the walk, we will gain more insight into these taonga native species and how to better protect them.

You will also learn about the journey this precious awa takes from the mountain to the sea and hear about the amazing mahi that local community groups are doing to restore it.

After the walk, join us for some kai at the Reserve. We have cool prizes to give away!
