Densely branched shrub featuring paired narrow leaves and flower spikes of small white or pale pink blooms, commonly found across the wider Auckland region.

The leaves, reaching up to 163mm in length, are m-shaped in cross-section. Leaf buds have no basal gap. Flowers are tightly clustered, with relatively long anthers, arranged in spikes approximately equal in length to the leaves.
