DIY Wrap, Tag & Create

INTERACTIVE SESSION | Give a little differently this Christmas: reuse, repurpose and get creative!

This Christmas, discover how everyday materials can be given a second life. Come along and learn how to make reusable fabric gift wrapping, Christmas cards and gift labels using repurposed and surplus materials.

We’ll provide the resources and materials you need, so you can learn a new skill, make something to take home and discover simple ways to reduce the waste that can come with the festive season.

By choosing to reuse and repurpose, we can keep useful materials in circulation, reduce our reliance on single-use wrapping and help keep resources out of landfill.

On the day you can:

  • Learn how to make reusable fabric gift wrapping, Christmas cards and gift labels
  • Give pre-loved and surplus textiles a new life
  • Explore practical ways to reduce, reuse and repurpose
  • Make something reusable to take home and enjoy for years to come
  • Browse and purchase second-hand Christmas decorations
  • Connect with your local zero waste community and share ideas
  • Enjoy a sausage sizzle and coffee while you craft
  • All crafting materials and resources are provided on the day.

A collaboration between Wairau Zero Waste Hub, Thread Lightly and Kaipātiki Project, proudly supported by Kaipātiki Local Board.

Let's celebrate Christmas through creativity, reuse and less waste!
