Giant Worms: The Hidden Giants Beneath Our Feet

SPEAKER SERIES | Have you seen DUNE? Those worms are colossal—but did you know Aotearoa has its own giants? They might not be tractor-eating, but they’re impressive enough to spark your imagination!

Deep in remnant forest gullies, giant worms carve burrows over 2 metres deep and can grow to more than 1.5 metres long. Some even say they glow orange in the dark!
