Game On: Preparing for Extreme Weather with Scenario Based Play

Picture this: A wildfire starts in one of our local reserves. Spot fires are starting as the wind pushes around the embers, smoke is being blown across many of our homes, visibility on roads is affected and your neighbours need help. What would you do? How would our community pull together?

What to expect?

  • A fun, scenario-based game with expert facilitation, called Weathering Tomorrow Together, is helping communities prepare for extreme weather
  • You’ll work with a small team around a detailed map of our own Kaipātiki region
  • Face realistic scenarios based on climate science projections for our area
  • Make strategic decisions about protecting the places and people you care about most
  • Learn from neighbours and discover resources you never knew existed
  • Help shape a stronger, more connected community

This proven approach has strengthened resilience across Australia. Now it’s Kaipātiki’s turn.
