Join us and become an agent of change for good, caring for our precious awa!
We invite you to be guided by our expert ecologist, and work alongside a group of volunteers like yourself, to revitalise the health of our local streams and support the ecosystems that rely on them. With just a little bit of direction from our team, you will fast become an agent of change for good in our reserves and our community.
Why the focus on streams?
Healthy Water
Stream regeneration has been a core part of Kaipātiki Project’s mahi for decades — because healthy streams help the entire ecosystem thrive!
Flood Resilience
What's more — recent evidence has proven the vital role of healthy streams in community flood resilience. By clearing debris and invasive plants, stabilising banks with native vegetation, and improving flow, we reduce the risk of flooding in surrounding neighbourhoods.
So — from pest plant removal to native planting, from water quality monitoring and stream clean ups to wildlife research and protection — this is our kōrero, and you're invited! We value and appreciate every hand that helps!
