New Volunteer Induction Session

We provide volunteer opportunities in our nursery and garden. A variety of tasks are available to suit different people. To ensure you have the best possible experience we ask you to join a Volunteer Induction Session before starting to volunteer. The session covers what we are about, activities that are involved, Health & Safety and of course a morning tea!

Weekly volunteer opportunities in nursery and garden

Kaipatiki Project nursery v2We provide volunteer opportunities at two nursery sites. Activities include propagating plants, pricking out seedlings, potting small plants, weeding, moving plants, tidying in and around the nursery, and may also be involved in controlling invasive weeds and planting in the local reserves, as well as gardening and managing our community compost hub.

A variety of tasks are available to suit different people. When coming along please wear closed shoes, bring sunblock, sun hat, water and raincoat if it rains. A reasonable level of mobility and the ability to follow simple instructions if necessary. Gloves are provided but are not personal.

Activities: relating mainly to native plant propagation, potting small plants, weeding, moving plants, tidying in and around the nursery and garden, planting seedlings, attending to garden and harvesting vegetables.
